What Are The Types of Delta Name Correction Policy?

Delta Name Change Policy might vary based on specific circumstances, as Delta assesses each case individually. Delta Airlines allows two types of name changes:

  • Minor Corrections: Delta generally allows minor changes to your name if you made a typo or need to adjust the spelling. Correcting a few letters in your first or last name is called a minor correction.
  • Major Corrections: When significant changes need to be made, such as a change of name due to marriage or adding a middle name, the process is more involved. To update your ticket correctly, you may need to provide additional documentation.

What are the required documents for changing the Delta name?

Depending on the reason for the name change, the following documents must be submitted:

  • A government-issued ID or passport provides the correct name for validation.
  • Marriage Certificate: This document is required for name corrections related to marriage.
  • Divorce Decree: When resuming your maiden name after divorce, you will need to have this document.
  • Court Orders: Legal name changes generally require court orders.
  • Notarized Statement: Required occasionally to confirm the reason for changing a name.
